Bharatanatyam Dancer

My approach to design is usually on an intuitive level, however, once it's there, I allow it to gel without necessarily investigating its origins. During this "waiting" period, some osmosis takes place, where this idea collects its own information and I enjoy that revelation process.

"Dancer" arrived over a six-year period through this type of process; the sense of the chair as the most anthropomorphic of all furniture pieces in our daily life, one that's almost ready to get up and move, and from my own teenage years as a student of the Indian Bharatanatyam dancing.
