Chair with Mirrors and Paisley

Lotus doors

The custom hall chair depicting a traditional South Asian shawl was commissioned by my client for whom I had carved ‘Sarasvati Devi’ in 2018. The carved cloth shows the front of the ‘material’ with inset mirrors and the back folds with hand painted paisley patterns.

In 2020 I was asked to work on the double doors of their hall storage space. The appliqued surface has1/8th inch shallow relief carving.

Chair Materials: Curly maple, blistered cherry paisley motifs, carved and painted soft maple, mirrors.
